Staff Procedures

This section outlines the roles, expectations, and progression for staff members within the TSO Network. Clear procedures help ensure consistency, fairness, and professionalism across the team.


Staff Ranks & Roles

Owner

  • Oversees all aspects of the community and server operations.
  • Makes final decisions on policy, staff, and development.
  • Provides leadership and vision for the network.

Developer

  • Responsible for technical development, server maintenance, and updates.
  • Works closely with management to implement new features and resolve technical issues.

Superadmin (Manager)

  • Senior management, oversees all staff and major decisions.
  • Handles staff promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensures the smooth running of the community and resolves escalated issues.

Head Admin

  • Leads the admin team and supports management.
  • Manages day-to-day operations and assists with staff training.
  • Acts as a bridge between management and admins/moderators.

Admin

  • Handles advanced moderation, supports the community, and enforces rules.
  • Assists with staff training and helps resolve complex situations.
  • Reports significant issues to Head Admin or Superadmin.

Recruitment Manager

  • Responsible for recruiting new staff members and overseeing the application process.
  • Coordinates with management and Head Admin to identify staffing needs.
  • Assists with onboarding and initial training of new staff.

Head Moderator

  • Leads the moderator team and assists admins.
  • Supports moderators, provides guidance, and ensures rule enforcement.
  • Reports concerns and feedback to admins and management.

Moderator

  • Responsible for day-to-day moderation and supporting players.
  • Enforces rules, assists Trial Moderators, and monitors player activity.
  • Reports issues to Head Moderator or Admin.

Trial Moderator

  • New staff members in a probationary period (typically 3 weeks).
  • Expected to be active, learn procedures, and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Subject to a two-strike system and reviewed for promotion at the end of the trial.

Moderation Team

Trial Moderator

  • Trial Period: 3 weeks of active participation and learning.
  • Expectations: Handle a variety of situations, demonstrate professionalism, and follow all staff guidelines.
  • Strikes: Trial Moderators are subject to a two-strike system (instead of three for higher ranks).
  • Primary Duties: Conduct in-game sits, assist players, and report issues to senior staff.
  • Promotion: At the end of the trial, a Manager+ will review your performance and decide on promotion to Moderator.

Moderator

  • Role: Full staff member, responsible for day-to-day moderation and supporting the community.
  • Duties: Enforce rules, assist Trial Moderators, monitor player activity, and report concerns to management.
  • Leadership: Moderators are the eyes and ears of management—proactive communication is encouraged.
  • Command Access: Refer to the commands section for available tools and permissions.

Administration Team

Administrator

  • Role: Senior staff with advanced permissions and leadership responsibilities.
  • Duties: Oversee Moderators and Trial Moderators, issue strikes when necessary, and recommend promotions/demotions.
  • Leadership: Set an example for professionalism and integrity, manage team dynamics, and resolve conflicts.
  • Reporting: Administrators are expected to report significant issues or concerns directly to Managers or higher.

Progression & Promotion

  • Staff progression is based on activity, professionalism, and adherence to the handbook.
  • Promotions are determined by management after reviewing performance, conduct, and contributions.
  • Staff who consistently demonstrate leadership and reliability may be considered for higher ranks.
