Staff Bias

Staff members must always act with impartiality and fairness, regardless of personal involvement in a situation. Bias undermines trust and the integrity of the moderation team.

Handling Personal Involvement

  • If you are directly affected by a rule break (e.g., RDM, harassment), do not handle the case yourself. Immediately notify a higher-ranking staff member or management.
  • If no senior staff are available and immediate action is required to protect the community (e.g., server crash attempts, exploits), act responsibly but ensure you record clear evidence (screenshots, video, logs).
  • After taking action, report the incident and provide all evidence to management for review.

Documentation & Transparency

  • Always document your actions when involved in sensitive cases. Proper evidence protects you and ensures transparency.
  • If you must act due to urgency, explain your reasoning and steps taken to management as soon as possible.

Avoiding Conflicts of Interest

  • Never moderate cases involving friends, group members, or yourself. Request another staff member to handle these situations.
  • Staff found to be biased or acting in self-interest may face disciplinary action, including strikes or removal.

Community First

  • The safety and well-being of the community is always the top priority. Responsible, unbiased action combined with thorough documentation helps maintain a fair and secure environment for all players.

If you are unsure about handling a situation due to possible bias, seek advice from management before proceeding.
