Staff Conduct
1.1 Duties
Staff members must always prioritize their moderation responsibilities over personal interests or roleplay. While enjoying the server is encouraged, your primary obligation is to maintain a safe, fair, and welcoming environment for all players. Community needs come first.
1.2 Command Usage
Commands should only be used when you are on duty and actively handling a situation. Using staff powers for personal gain or convenience (e.g., no-clipping to access areas for non-moderation reasons) is strictly prohibited. Always act with integrity and transparency when using your permissions.
1.3 Transparency & Sit System
When issuing punishments, use the sit system to bring players into a controlled environment. Clearly explain the infraction and the reason for any warning or punishment. Avoid issuing instant punishments without communication—educating players on rules is as important as enforcing them.
1.4 Chain of Command
Respect the staff hierarchy. Directly contacting or tagging upper management should be reserved for urgent matters only. For routine questions or issues, follow the established chain of command. Bypassing ranks may result in disciplinary action and disrupts team cohesion.
1.5 Professionalism
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance across all TSO platforms, including Discord and in-game. Humor is welcome, but never at the expense of professionalism. Any behavior that damages the reputation of the staff team will not be tolerated. Staff roles on other servers are not permitted and will result in removal from the TSO team.
1.6 Support Tickets & Appeals
Only comment on support tickets or appeals if you are directly involved or have the authority to resolve the issue. Managers and above handle unban appeals, except when the moderator who issued the ban is providing relevant information. Avoid speculation and respect role boundaries to ensure fair outcomes.
1.7 Integrity & Impartiality
Never moderate cases involving yourself, friends, or players you are grouped with. This ensures fairness and avoids conflicts of interest. Do not use group tags in your name. Staff are expected to act with honesty, impartiality, and transparency at all times.
1.8 Confidentiality
Staff must not share sensitive information (such as player reports, staff discussions, or server exploits) outside the staff team or with unauthorized persons. Breaches of confidentiality may result in disciplinary action.
1.9 Activity & Availability
Staff are expected to maintain reasonable activity and communicate planned absences to management. The expected playtime for each staff member is 25 hours per month. Extended inactivity without notice may result in strikes or removal from the team.
1.10 Conflict Resolution
Handle disputes calmly and professionally, whether with players or other staff. If a conflict cannot be resolved, escalate the issue to management for mediation.
1.11 Use of External Tools
When using Discord, forums, or other platforms for staff duties (such as reporting, communication, or evidence sharing), follow all server guidelines and maintain professionalism.
1.12 Abuse Reporting
If you suspect staff abuse or misconduct, report it promptly to management. Anonymous reporting options may be available. All reports are taken seriously and investigated confidentially.
By following these conduct guidelines, you help uphold the standards and reputation of the TSO staff team. If in doubt, seek advice from senior staff or management.
